One year of Let’s Help Here’s how your $800,000 in donations helped support Ukrainian civilians affected by Russia’s war
One year ago today, on the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Meduza joined forces with the human rights media project Helpdesk and the independent news outlet TV Rain to launch Let’s Help, a fundraiser supporting Ukrainian civilians affected by Russia’s war.
Since then, Let’s Help has focused on three key areas:
- Providing assistance to those who lost their homes to missile strikes by offering temporary housing, food, clothing, essential supplies, and psychological support;
- Supporting frontline communities by delivering humanitarian aid to those living under fire, helping them stay connected with loved ones, and evacuating those who want to leave but cannot do so on their own;
- Caring for animals wounded or left behind because of the war.
We partner with Ukrainian humanitarian organizations to identify their most urgent needs and distribute donations accordingly. We also organize direct fundraisers for individuals and families in crisis, along with other special initiatives.
Over the past year, Let’s Help has raised 810,000 euros (almost $850,000) in donations. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve supported 16 humanitarian aid organizations that:
- Fed more than 280,000 people;
- Provided assistance to over 7,000 people;
- Rescued and treated 15,000 animals;
- Delivered direct aid to more than 60 individuals.
None of this would have been possible without you. But the war isn’t over, and neither is our work. We know the news can be discouraging, but that’s exactly why we need to act. And in these dark times, we have to support each other, as well.
How you can help
If you live outside Russia and are in a position to donate, we encourage you to:
💛 Make a recurring donation to Let’s Help. Even a small amount given regularly makes a difference.
💬 Leave a message for the next donor. It can be anything — words of encouragement, well wishes, or just a simple greeting. Think about what would make you smile if you read it from another donor — and pass that kindness along!
📖 Read the message left for you. Once you donate, you’ll see a note from the person who donated before you.
DONATE NOW
Let’s make this chain of support and kindness as long as possible. Even in the darkest times, we can stand together and remind each other that none of us are alone.
A word of caution: If you live in Russia, travel there, or report your foreign financial transactions to Russian tax authorities, we strongly advise against donating to Let’s Help. Likewise, do not encourage anyone to donate if doing so could put them at risk.
