U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing the Ukrainian President’s Office. The outlet did not provide any details about the conversation.
Trump reportedly reached out to Zelensky immediately after speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following his call with Putin, Trump announced that he had instructed members of his cabinet to begin negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
In a post on his online platform Truth Social, Trump said he and Zelensky “discussed a variety of topics having to do with the War, but mostly, the meeting that is being set up on Friday in Munich, where Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead the Delegation.”
